Basic Usage
How does the Pomodoro technique work?
The Pomodoro technique is a time management method that uses 25-minute focus sessions followed by 5-minute breaks. After every 4th focus session, there's a 15-minute long break. This helps maintain concentration and prevent burnout.
What keyboard shortcuts can I use?
Space: start/pause timer
N: select next mode
R: reset timer
These commands help you navigate quickly through the application.
Can I customize the durations?
Yes! In the settings menu (gear icon) you can modify both focus sessions and break durations between 1-99 minutes.
Notifications and Sounds
How do I enable browser notifications?
When you start the timer for the first time, the browser will ask for permission to display notifications. Click "Allow". If you previously denied permission, you can re-enable it by clicking the notification icon in the browser's address bar.
Why aren't notifications working?
Check if you've allowed notifications in the browser. If yes but they still don't work, try reloading the page or check your browser's notification settings.
PWA and Mobile Usage
How do I install the app on my phone?
Android: Open pomodo.hu in Chrome browser, click the menu button (three dots), then select "Install app".
iOS: Open in Safari, click the share button, then select "Add to Home Screen".
Does the app work offline?
Yes! After loading the page once, the app works offline. The timer, settings, and statistics are all available without an internet connection.
Privacy and Security
Where is my data stored?
All data is stored locally in your browser (localStorage and IndexedDB). We don't send any data to external servers, so your data remains completely safe and private.
